Welcome
Animal Wellness offers services to help rehabilitate the body and mind of large and small animals.
Dog behaviour counseling is available to owners with dogs experiencing aggression, obsessions, barking, fears, anti-socialness, leash pulling, etc.
~Methods used to rehabilitate a dogs mind to achieve calm-submission so that the owner can obtain a leadership role is directly related to how they live in their natural instinctual habitat in the wild.
~We as dog owners have to imitate a similar structured environment with rules and boundaries in order to fulfill our dogs needs. We sometimes tend to use our beloved pets to fulfill our own needs as humans and treat them as such, but we are forgetting that dogs have needs not related to the human world and we must fulfill those needs in order to have a truly content dog.
Services
Dog Counselling available to all breeds and all ages. There’s no such thing as not being able to “teach an old dog new tricks”, as the old saying goes or in this case rehabilitate an older dog’s mind.
When a dog has behaviour issues, they are trying to tell you they are not happy, their needs are not being met. We cannot let our dogs become the dominant leader of a human family or pack to them. It’s natural or instinctual for a dog to have a leader so that’s why when there is no human leader, no rules or boundaries in your dog’s home, then he or she takes over that leadership position and that’s where behavioural issues arise. Dogs don’t take things personal, once you establish you are the leader and the dog is the follower, and you are fulfilling his needs as a dog, you will have a happy and mentally content dog.
I can help you achieve that leadership role in your dogs life. Please see the following as a guide to the services that I provide:
Consultation: $25.00
Counselling/Rehabilitation: $65.00
Follow-Up: $35.00
*Please note there will a travel fee required.
All services are provided at the dog owner’s residence. Exceptions may involve rehabilitation at my location for dogs with a difficult behaviour issue that the owners are not able to overcome themselves.
